The cricket community has been eagerly anticipating the PSL, and this time, Ali Zafar takes charge in crafting the anthem, adding an extra layer of enthusiasm, especially among young enthusiasts who are not only looking forward to the matches but also the anthems that precede them.
Engrossed in anthem preparation, Ali Zafar heightened anticipation by unveiling its name yesterday. He shared a teaser on his social media, captioning it with the message, ‘It’s time to play again and live fearlessly – that’s why I wrote, ‘Khol ke khel’ (Play openly).’ Addressing cricket lovers, he further urged, ‘Get your shoes ready for the dance.'”
The 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is scheduled to commence on the 17th of the upcoming month, February. The inaugural match of PSL 9 is slated for Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, while the grand finale is set for the 18th of March in Karachi. With a total of 34 matches in this T20 tournament, Lahore Qalandars are aiming to defend their title for the second consecutive year. Notably, Pakistani rock stars Ali Zafar and Aima Baig have officially announced their collaboration to create a spectacular cricket anthem for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9. PSL 9 Draft Update
On January 29, 2024, during the Replacement Draft for the upcoming ninth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League starting on February 17, several supplementary and replacement players were added to the squads through a conference call.
- Peshawar Zalmi drafted Waqar Salamkheil for Lungi Ngidi in the silver category, Khurram Shahzad partially replaced by Arshad Iqbal, Gus Atkinson replacing Noor Ahmed, and Shamar Joseph as a partial replacement for Gus Atkinson.
- Lahore Qalandars reserved picks for Rashid Khan and Dan Lawrence.
- Islamabad United reserved their pick for Tom Curran.
- Karachi Kings brought in Zahid Mehmood as a partial replacement for Kieron Pollard and reserved their pick for Tim Seifert.
- Quetta Gladiators’ Bismillah Khan will replace Wanindu Hasaranga.
